Parent Council

Welcome to Our Parent Council

Our Parent Council objectives are to:

  • help the school achieve the vision
  • promote good relationships between parents, families and the school
  • represent parents’ views on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting pupils
  • provide a forum for parents to contribute and support the education and welfare provided by the school
  • raise funds to support education and wellbeing activities.

A ‘parent’ can be any adult with caring responsibility for a Balmullo school pupil.

Meetings are open to any parent who can get along. And if you can’t make a meeting, don’t let that put you off, there are lots of ways you can get involved

  • come along to help out at a disco
  • sell raffle tickets
  • or share your ideas and skills with us in another way.

The Parent Council Constitution (link below) explains more about how we run.

We meet once a term, and more often if arranging a specific event. Dates are advertised in the Parent Weekly SWAYs, on our Facebook Page or via class WhatsApp Groups.

If you fancy a chat to find out more, join the Balmullo Parent Council Facebook Page or email the school and they will put you in touch with a Class Rep.

Are you interested in getting together with other parents, grandparents and carers who have a shared interest in our school?

Have you got fundraising ideas?

Are you good at organising events?

Would you like to get more involved in the school?

or perhaps you would just like to find out more and support the school.
We hold regular termly meetings at the school and everyone is welcome!

Class Representatives – Class Reps help build a sense of community among parents and can be a liaison between parents and the school. We attend Parent Council Meetings and can raise things for you if you’re unable to make it yourself.

How to contact us?

  • Chat to us in the playground. We all work, so attendance in the playground varies. But we have a rep for each class, so you can choose to contact another rep if you see them first.
  • Message us via our Parent Council Facebook page
  • Ask the school office to pass a message onto us. Please leave your email/phone number so we can get back to you.
