24th February – World Thinking Day 2025
Children were invited to wear their Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Guides and Rainbow uniforms today to celebrate and promote World Thinking Day. We are lucky to have a well established Scouts Group here in Balmullo and Girl Guides group in Cupar. The children benefit from having a shared interest and belonging to a group which offers many opportunities to be creative, be adventurous and be outdoors!

28th February – ‘Making A Difference’
Each class has been tasked with Making A Difference to their school. This forms part of our Rights Respecting Schools work and recognises the role children have in sharing their voice and shaping ‘who we are’ in Balmullo. There are strong links to our school values of showing RESPECT and being RESPONSIBILE.
P6/7 are looking at how they can encourage everyone to embrace the importance of exercise and being outdoors in nature. P2/3 are keen that we all do our bit to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle her in school and beyond! The children presented their message at Assembly today.

We also learned about the jobs different people have had in the castle and why each person was important. We had a great day and learned lots! Thank you so much to all the lovely parent helpers who came along ton enjoy our day with us!

Our P5/6 class had a fantastic visit to Stirling Castle, where history truly came to life! The children explored the grand halls, kitchens, vaults and royal gardens, discovering fascinating facts about the castle that few people know. The trip brought our learning about Mary, Queen of Scots into sharp focus, helping the children see her story in a whole new way.
31st January – P7 IDL Topic ‘The Highland Clearances’
In preparation for learning about the Highland Clearances, pupils created a timeline of key Scottish historical events. They learned how to navigate Google Earth to locate areas in Scotland and used this to investigate the geographical landscape of the Highlands.
