We have three platforms we use for communication:
Groupcall
This is a system we use to contact parents directly by text or email. We most commonly use email as it is free – there is a charge to the school for texts. The system pulls through the email address and mobile phone number of the parent you have named first on your child’s data capture form and it is that parent who will receive our messages. In exceptional circumstance, where parents live apart and can’t share messages, we can add a second parent manually but there is a workload to doing this and where parents are part of the same family and can forward messages on, we ask that they do so. If you would like to change the parent who is first named, please contact the school office to arrange to do so.
School Website
This website is used as a communication tool. Information for parents is posted here and the link is shared with parents via Groupcall so that they are prompted to access it. The site is public and all information posted on the site is accessible at any time to existing parents but also to the wider community, our stakeholders and prospective parents.
Microsoft Teams through GLOW
This platform is used to allow children to communicate within their class digitally and with their teacher and/or other key adults in school. Access to Teams through GLOW is only for GLOW users. Your child will be taught to access the platform in school so that they can do so independently at home. Parents can support their child with their online learning once they have logged in but they cannot use their log in details to access the platform on their behalf and we can’t share passwords for GLOW with parents. It is important that our older children become proficient in the use of Teams as this is part of the digital learning curriculum and prepares them for secondary education. High Schools also make extensive use of Teams through GLOW.
