About

Balmullo Primary School

The original school in Balmullo was closed in October 1976 when a new building was completed to serve the increasing numbers due to a new housing development.

The new school opened on 18th October, 1976 with 86 pupils.  It is built to a semi-open plan design. We also have an additional classroom in modular accommodation which is linked to the school.  This added accommodation also houses an out-of-school club, which opens at 7.45a.m. and closes at 6p.m., offering before and after school care.

Our building is situated in the middle of a large grassy area where there are good play facilities.  A wildlife hedgerow surrounds the perimeter of the school grounds and a school garden planted with fruit trees allows opportunities for outdoor learning. A trim trail , pirate ship and playhouse offers other opportunities for play in the playground, together with ‘quiet’ areas for socialising with friends.
