Nursery Entrance Improvements

The nursery children worked together this week to clear the old flower planters in readiness for their removal and replacement over the school holidays.

Thank you to Balmullo Out of School Club who

joined in working hard to repot the plants.

The nursery children have been consulted and shared their voice making suggestions about improvements they would like to see.

“A little table – you could have a little picnic with some chairs.” Suggested Samuel.

Blake had ideas for the fences. ” We could put on decorations.”

The children would like lots of coloured flowers -purple, pink, blue, red and yellow were suggested by Hannah, Matthew, Aulley and Blake.

Olivia would like to see butterflies.

Gracie liked the idea of numbers painted on the ground.

” I like numbers to jump on.”

Their ideas are displayed in the entrance corridor alongside the ideas suggested by families.

Please continue to add your ideas as the area develops.

Primary 6 Buddies Visit the Nursery

The children starting school in August 2019 have each been matched to a Primary 6 buddy. The children will build positive relationships through interacting in the nursery sharing books and learning through play. There will be a number of events next term planned to build the nursery child’s confidence and allow the nursery families to share in the process and have an opportunity to get to know their child’s P6 buddy.

This is an important part of the transition to primary journey at Balmullo.  The P6 buddy will become a familiar face for the nursery child and support them in the early stages of settling into school –being a role model, helping them in the playground and with school routines in the dinner hall.
