Thank you to the children and their families who kindly donated home baking and items for sale at our event. The children helped sort the books and toys ready for the sale.
The children sang a song to entertain our visitors.
“When Goldilocks went to the house of the bears.”
The children developed their numeracy skills sorting, matching and counting the coins.
Throughout the week both sessions have had the opportunity to join Bill the Guide Dog Puppy for a story in the library. They have been developing an understanding of how to help the puppy in his training by sitting in a calm way, using quiet voices and gently stroking Bill but not playing with him as he is learning to be a working dog. The children have also been learning about how Guide Dogs help people.
The children had a very successful sponsored walk around the village. They had fun while developing their numeracy and literacy skills as they searched the village looking for teddy bears. They matched the number on the bear to the corresponding number on the chart.
We held two Bookbug Sessions on Monday and had positive feedback from the children and families who attended. The sessions are open to all children 0 to pre-school encouraging development of literacy skills in a fun way through stories, songs and rhymes.
The nursery children met with Victoria Leonard coordinator of the Toy Drive in North East Fife. The annual event collects donated gifts and distributes them locally to Children and Families in need to ensure all children and young people receive a gift at Christmas. Santa face-timed the children to say thank you – very exciting! Victoria expressed her thanks to all the families who participated and was impressed with all our little helpers.
