Payment in Lieu of Free School Meals<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
Parents and carers of children who receive Free School Meals based on benefit entitlement will get a payment of \u00a312.50 per week (\u00a32.50 per day), per child for the summer holidays.<\/div>\n
The first payment, covering 6 days from 4 \u2013 11 July, will be made into your bank account on Wednesday, 9 July 2025.<\/div>\n

Free School Meals, milk and clothing grant<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 P1-7<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n

All children in primary 1-5 can receive a free school meal without an application however, you must still apply to receive free school milk and a school clothing grant.<\/div>\n
Applications can be made for clothing grants and free school meals using the link below if you have not claimed.<\/div>\n
Children in P6 and 7 will only receive a free meal if you apply. If your financial situation has changed, it is well worth checking if you can apply:<\/div>\n

From 3rd\u00a0March 2025 pupils in Primary 6 and 7 whose parent or carer receives\u00a0Scottish Child Payment<\/a>\u00a0for them are eligible for free school meals.<\/div>\n
If you receive a Scottish Child Payment for a child in primary 6 or 7 (and don\u2019t already receive free school meals for them), you can now apply.\u00a0\u00a0You will need to provide evidence of your Scottish Child Payment award along with your application.\u00a0\u00a0This should be an official letter from Social Security Scotland confirming your award.<\/div>\n
Please note, this change will not entitle your child to receive a payment in lieu of school meals during school holiday periods.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Change to School Clothing Grant Eligibility<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
\u202f<\/b>Changes to the Fife Council School Clothing Grant policy have ensured no parents lose the grant due to migrating from Tax Credits to Universal Credit.<\/div>\n
Fife Council has reviewed the eligibility criteria for School Clothing Grants to ensure that those currently eligible within the Tax Credits system will continue to receive Clothing Grant once they have migrated to Universal Credit.<\/div>\n
The exiting earnings threshold conditions for Universal Credit, is \u00a3796 per month. Fife Council has increased this earnings threshold to monthly earned income of no more than \u00a31666. In making the change to the School Clothing Grant, Fife has protected those customers who migrated from Tax Credits to Universal Credit.<\/div>\n
Additionally, those customers who had moved onto Universal Credit \u201cnaturally\u201d from 2017 through a change in circumstances now qualify again for the clothing grant.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
