Stand Up \u2013 Get Help was introduced in November 2021 in response to feedback from children that they wouldn’t always ask for help if they felt picked on.<\/strong><\/p>\n

United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child Link:<\/u><\/p>\n

Article 29: One of the goals of education is to teach respect for the environment, for other children and for adults.<\/p>\n

Curriculum Link:<\/u> This supports our learning in Health and Wellbeing under the Mental and Emotional Wellbeing Organiser:<\/p>\n

We are learning to talk about our thoughts and feelings and understand our own and others\u2019 behaviour. We are learning to seek help when needed and to build friendships which show respect for ourselves and others. We are learning to help someone who might be feeling left out. HWB 0-01a – 0-08a\/1-01a – 1-08a\/2-01a – 2-08a<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When someone treats us in a way we don\u2019t like, we follow these steps:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Tell the person you don\u2019t like what they are doing \u2013 remember they might not realise you don\u2019t like it, they might think it\u2019s fun for you.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    If they don\u2019t stop doing it:<\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Look right at them and use a big clear voice: \u2018I don\u2019t like you doing that, I\u2019ve already told you that I don\u2019t and I want you to stop.\u2019<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

       <\/p>\n

      If they don\u2019t stop doing it:<\/p>\n

      \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Tell them: \u2018I know that I\u2019ve told you I don\u2019t like it, you keep doing even though you know that. If you ever do it again, I am going to get help.\u2019<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

         <\/p>\n

        After that, if the person ever does it again, go and get help straight away, tell the adult you\u2019ve told them you don\u2019t like it but they keep doing it anyway. The adult will help you sort it out. You can ask any adult at school for help.<\/p>\n

         <\/p>\n

        If you see a friend being treated in a way they don\u2019t like, you can help them to use \u2018Stand Up \u2013 Get Help\u2019. We Stand Up for ourselves by using our words and explaining we don\u2019t like it. We never Stand Up for ourselves or others by using unkind words or hitting.<\/p>\n
