With &#8216;Hungry for Success&#8217;,\u00a0nutrient standards for school lunches are\u00a0calculated to ensure that the school lunch provides a third of the daily nutritional requirements of primary and secondary school pupils. The nutrient standards represent the amount of energy (calories) and nutrients required to be provided by an average day&#8217;s school lunch. School meals in Fife are planned to provide choices which are tasty and nutritious and offer a balanced diet over the week. Primary school lunch consists of a choice of main course with bread and salad available, either soup or dessert plus fruit juice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 12.7pt;background: white;margin: 2.25pt 0cm 7.5pt 0cm\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;color: #000033\">Special diets can be catered for, including help with food allergies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 12.7pt;background: white;margin: 2.25pt 0cm 7.5pt 0cm\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;color: #000033\">Lunch is free for P1-5 and \u00a32.50 per day for P6-7, this is chosen on and paid for on IPAY Impact.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 12.7pt;background: white;margin: 2.25pt 0cm 7.5pt 0cm\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;color: #000033\">Milk can be provided at a cost of \u00a31.25 per week and can be paid for termly via IPAY.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>School meals in Scotland have undergone a transformation over the past few years due to the &#8216;Hungry for Success&#8217; initiative which introduced nutritional guidelines for school lunches.
