Loads of content here.<\/p>\n<p>Tax Bands: My advice is to use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stampdutycalculator.org.uk\/stamp-duty-scotland.htm\">this site<\/a>. National Insurance tables are best avoided, as at Higher Applications we will later be finding National Insurance per week rather than annually.\u00a0 Give students the table from the LBTT website, and then give them property prices to work out the tax for. The website can be used to check their answers. You might find <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fi\/public\/applyingmathematics\/uploads\/sites\/13374\/2022\/06\/08132550\/Tax-rates.docx\">this worksheet<\/a> helpful.<\/p>\n<p>When checking answers for income tax, I&#8217;ve found the Which? website useful: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.which.co.uk\/money\/tax\/tax-calculators\/income-tax-calculator-ad9xh2l9wxxr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Which?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Challenge: Can students create an excel spreadsheet that can calculate tax for them? Find the mean and standard deviation, produce boxplots and 5 figure summaries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remember to use the STDEV.S () function<\/strong> for standard deviation, not the STDEV.P function. This is because the formula given at Natation 5 is the <strong>sample<\/strong> formula, not the <strong>population<\/strong> one.<\/p>\n<p>Challenge: Have students find the semi-interquartile range in Excel. Especially converting between metric volumes and areas. Tolerance is not assessed in 2023.
