Attend to Achieve
Our is aim to is to have children attend for at least 95% of the year. This equates to 10 days or 2 weeks absence.
If your child is ill they need to be at home to be looked after. Contact the school office or use the Parental Portal to notify the absence and the reason. If your child has sickness or diarrhoea they should remain at home for 48 hours since their last bout. This helps to stop the spread of infection. There is no requirement to test for covid. If your child has flu like symptoms they should stay at home until they feel well enough to attend.
We are currently supporting our children who find it tricky to attend school. They have time to talk with a Pupil Support Assistant and are creating their own targets to increase their time in school. If you have any concerns about your child attending school get in touch with the class teacher, Depute Headteacher or Headteacher.

It’s Just One Day!
Random absences, not just those on consecutive days of school, matter. Before you know it – just one or two days a month can add up to nearly 10 percent of the school year.

Keeping Track
Children can suffer academically and socially if they miss 10 percent of the school year or about 18 days. That can be just one day every two weeks, and that can happen before you know it.
