At Anstruther Primary School we want to enable all our learners to achieve success. To make this happen, we work as a whole-school team to ensure that individual needs are supported, both in class and throughout the school.
We have two Support for Learning teachers, Jenny Stark and Susan Stewart, who work with school management, teachers and pupil support assistants to:
-
Create individualised plans for learners with additional support needs
-
Ensure strategies are in place to enable learners to succeed
-
Gather assessment information to identify educational needs such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia
-
Liaise with outside agencies such as the NHS to support diagnoses of medical conditions such as autism, ADHD/ADD and dyspraxia.
As parents, we understand that if your child is going through an assessment for a learning difficulty or a medical diagnosis it can be an anxious and isolating time. Please know our door (and our emails!) are always open for you to come and talk to us about your concerns.
