P4 – Mr Burns

Welcome to our P4 class page!

Our gym days are Monday’s and Wednesday’s.

Here are just a few of the things we have enjoyed learning.

Charles Rennie Mackintosh

Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a Scottish artist and architect. He had a special style that we tried to use when we made our “stained glass” windows.

Can you see the long, flowing lines, simple colours, and the use of pattern and rectangle shapes?

We love how the light coming through our windows fills our classroom.

Pantosaurus Talks PANTS

If you haven’t heard the Pantosaurus song yet, you’ve missed a treat! We love it!

Pantosaurus has helped us  to Talk PANTS and understand we have a right to say NO! (very loudly!) and if we need to speak out about something, someone will listen.

You can find out how the NSPCC and Pantosaurus can help you to Talk PANTS with your child and help you to explain how their body belongs to them, and they should tell a safe adult they trust if anything makes them feel upset or worried.  Just click here.

Terrific Tessellation

See how our Scotty dog shape fits together into a repeating pattern with no gaps.

Maths can make beautiful art!

You’ve probably seen a tessellation before and didn’t realise that was what it was. Challenge your child to see who can find the most examples of tessellation in your local environment.

Strategies for Number

We keep finding new ways to help us figure out number problems. We’re enjoying using concrete materials to help us, as well as pictures, models and good old chimney sums.

How many different strategies can you think of that would help you to figure out 3 groups of 4?
