Our primary 1 children have been very busy settling into school in the first two terms. We have taken part in lots of exciting learning.

We have enjoyed exploring, investigating, reading and writing lots of new sounds and words.

 

We have enjoyed learning about our ORT characters who feature in our reading books.

 

We have also been developing our number knowledge in lots of different ways by learning about numbers 1-10 who feature in our number zoo!

We have been learning  how to be a good friend and showing kindness to others.

We took part in lots of celebrations through term 2 by looking at different holidays, events and festivals.

We even took part in our own nativity performance for the whole school and our parents and families.

 

 

 

Term 3

We have been busy continuing our learning with our phonics sounds.

We have also been challenging ourselves in numeracy to add two numbers together. We have been reading and writing sums independently.

     

Our topic this term has been based around Scotland. We have explored Scottish myths and legends, scots language, Scottish traditions like dancing, food, tartan and animals.  We had so much fun learning about this AND The Loch Ness Monster visited our classroom, click the video to check it out!
