Black Bears

Black bears are excellent climbers and are often photographed scaling trees. Their claws give them great grip, and the branches offer youngsters safety from predators. Cubs can be very adventurous, climbing high into the treetops.
Black bears are hugely strong as well, able to casually flip boulders weighing over 140kg with a single paw.
diet
Plants and insects form the most significant part of the Eastern black bear’s diet including inner tree bark, grasses and forbs in the spring. In summer they add to their diet with roots, honey, nuts and fruits including raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, cranberries, apples and cherries.
habitat
They normaly live in forests but black bears are also found in mountains and swamps.

Amercican black bears are found in Canada, Mexico and North America.
