Gorillas are part of the great ape family, which includes orangutans, bonobos and chimpanzees. They are predominantly ground dwelling, and inhabit forests located in numerous countries in central Africa.
DIET
The diet of Gorilla in the wild depend on vegetations found in their habitat and on the season of the year. As not all plants are evergreen, so in the wild the diet of gorillas change with season. Gorillas also eat some invertebrates like ants, termites, grubs, caterpillars and larvae.
Habitat
Gorillas primarily inhabit tropical forest habitats. Tropical forests are characterized as having little variance in temperature and length of daylight. However, rainfall varies considerably in the tropics and is a primary factor as to the type of vegetation that grows in an area

Gorillas have a lifespan between 35 and 40 years in the wild, in captivity their lifespan can extend beyond 50 years.
