In Scotland, every 3- and 4-year-old \u2014 and some eligible 2-year-olds \u2014 can receive up to 1140 hours of funded early learning and childcare<\/strong> each year. This is a valuable opportunity for your child to grow, learn, and thrive in a safe and stimulating environment.<\/p>\n

Children are natural learners, soaking up new skills and ideas every day. Attending a high-quality nursery can give their development an extra boost, helping them build confidence, curiosity, and social skills that last a lifetime.<\/p>\n

When your child can start<\/strong><\/p>\n


In Falkirk, nursery start dates are arranged directly by the staff at your chosen setting. Once your place is confirmed, you\u2019ll receive details of your child\u2019s start date and a settling-in period<\/strong>. This gradual start \u2014 at least one week, and longer if needed \u2014 ensures your child feels secure and happy before attending full sessions.<\/p>\n

By local agreement, if your child turns 3 between 1 August and 28 (or 29) February<\/strong>, they will be able to start their funded place one calendar month after their 3rd birthday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The nursery team at St Mary’s will be with you every step of the way, making sure the transition is smooth for both you and your child.<\/p>\n
