The Four Nations Maths Challenge has come and gone! Schools and students from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales have competed to become the national champions! Congratulations to all who participated.

To reward everyone’s fantastic participation and effort in the challenge, each gold coin collected will have earned you 10 credits at the end of the challenge!
Day 1 of the challenge saw a maximum of 30 coins to collect; 3 coins to collect for each topic. On Day 1 pupils from the four nations answered over 5 million questions and over 41/2 million questions were correct.
Day 2 saw 150 coins to collect, 10 coins on levels 1 to 5, and double coins (20 coins) on levels 6 to 10 of Live Mathletics. On Day 2 nearly 11 million questions were answered with 92% accuracy! Fantastic!
With almost 2 whole days there was everything to play for!
Pupils from P6M have worked very enthusiastically throughout both days of the challenge, both at school and at home. The computer suite was even buzzing at lunchtime when many pupils gave up part of their break to score points. We have made it onto the Scottish leader board several times throughout the two days.
Well done! We’ve nearly made the 30 000 points between us.
Well done to all the children who worked so hard on their Mathletics last night. You have boosted our class score and taken us to 13th place on the UK leaderboard with 27 041 points.
Also congratulations to Dylan who has made it onto the UK individual leaderboard. He is in 72nd place with 1 530 points.
Congratulations to all P6M pupils. Your hard work so far this week has totalled to a fantastic 22 235 points and put us into 18th place on the UK Top 50 Classes leaderboard.

The Country Wind
The pitch-black clouds raced across the grey sky.
The howling wind tore quickly through the vast, mighty forest.
Brown, crinkly leaves travelled majestically to the forest floor.
The dead branches clattered noisily to the soft, mossy ground.
The cranky, old, red fox scattered stiffly
To its death from an oncoming branch.

Rapidly the leaves spin downwards off the trees.
Quickly the old branches crash to the moss covered ground.
The old, grumpy, grey fox scurries to his damp earth.
The dark, mighty clouds fly across the vast, gloomy sky.
Angrily the old, constipated, ugly farmer
Slams his ragged door on the mad day.

Branches anxiously die down to the covered up ground.
The old fox sprinted quickly to his underground lair.

Rapidly the farmer slammed his dog shut.
