Rights Respecting Schools

We have been on our RRS journey since August 2016 and this academic session, successfully achieved Gold status.

Read all about our journey in the Falkirk Herald.

RRS is a Unicef programme for schools based on the United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

Pupils, parents and teachers from Braes Cluster were involved in the decsion-making process for our School Charter and School Logo (shown below).

The 21st September is the United Nations’ World Peace Day.  It is a day dedicated to world peace, and specifically to the absence of war and violence.  The Theme this year is “The Right to Peace – The Universal Declaration of Human Rights at 70 years old”.

As a Rights Respecting School we are encouraging our staff and pupils to mark this day on Friday by adding to your school uniform by wearing something in your House colours to show our support and participation.   For example, wear a shirt or t-shirt in your house colour instead of the usual white, or add a scarf or coloured shoes.

Our link school in Israel, Tabeetha School, will also be participating.
