Rotary Challenge

Hi, on Friday the 24th May all the schools from the Grangemouth cluster participated in a Rotary Challenge. This is where we got split in to mixed groups and completed eight different activities. My top three favourites were blind volleyball, tug of war and the radio active bomb. Each team kept tally of their points at the end of each activity, at the end of the event the four teams with the most points went head to head in an obstacle course to see which team would be the final winner. Group 15 was first place, group 13 was second place and 14 was third place. It was really fun.

Friday 12th – Tuesday 16th

Hi, I’m only going to talk about a few things today because it has only been a week since I’ve spoke to you last. On Friday I did a talk on Tajikistan, I learnt many thing that I didn’t know before,          here is a picture of it’s flag.

On Monday both classes went to the local high school to do a science lesson. There were filled beakers each labelled with different percentages e.g. 3%, 2%, 1%, 0.5%. The higher the percentage the quicker the reactions happened, it was really cool.

On Tuesday my class and I went on a 6kilometer bike ride, to the Helix and back again. We had a total of 6 breaks including lunch. One of the stops that we had was to learn a bit about nature and how a bird keeps their chicks alive. Everyone went looking for interesting insects that a bird could possibly use as food for their chicks. here is a picture of us looking at some water insects.

Thanks for reading, bye!

Friday 5th – Tuesday 9th

Hi, I haven’t spoken to you in a while… But that means I have a lot to talk about. On Friday everyone in the class had to prepare a A4  fact file about a randomly picked country. I did mine on Luxembourg, here’s a picture if its flag.  Every week on a Friday we show out fact files to the class and at the end of the day we pick a new one to do the following week. Next week I have to do a fact file on Tajikistan, here is its flag.

On Monday the class and I went to the local high school for an introduction day, we had to start the school day at 8:30am. we learned about the usage of the library, how to take care of our self/body, the clubs and activities that are available to join, the timetable of the usual school day and how to deal with problems that may occur in high school. We also got to use our very own swipe card to order lunch. We got introduced to most of the main/house teachers and got shown some items from the high schools history. It was really fun.

Yesterday (9th May,) everyone in my class walked along to the local library to learn all about Grangemouth’s history. We learned that there used to be a functional airport. We created out own planes… some people made plane like planes and some people made not plane planes, it was honestly quite fun.
