– from physical and social

  1. Analyse some of the reasons for the footballer putting in this kind of performance.
Intro: One factor that may have impacted on the footballer’s performance is the emotional factor.

Anger had a negative impact on the player’s performance as the information above shows that the player was booked and, then thirty minutes later sent off. This happened because the player was angry with himself for giving away the first goal and as a result took his frustration out on an opponent with two bad tackles.

Fear also had a negative impact on the players’ performance as he was afraid of making a mistake when performing in front of a big crowd and this caused him to become anxious and distracted. This had a negative impact on his performance as the player forgot to carry out his defensive duties as resulted in his team giving away the first goal.

Fear also led to the player committing his first foul and getting his first yellow card as he did not want to be at fault for conceding another goal so he brought the attacker down as he attempted to go by him.

Fear could also have impacted on the player’s confidence and this caused him to make mistakes when executing simple skills such as passing, as his success rate was only 40%.

Physical factor also responsible for this players performance:

Skill– This player is a very inaccurate passer due to his poor technique and this caused him to give the ball away a lot.

Skill– The player is a poor tackler and often mistimes tackles causing him to get booked.

Tactics– The player also did not have a good understanding of the team’s defensive tactics and this caused him not to track back and as a result his team conceded the first goal.

Tactics- The player was also playing out of position and this caused him to feel agitated as he was playing in a role he was not familiar with.

Fitness: The player also had a low level of speed/CRE and was not able to track back when defending, this caused the first goal.
