Wednesday 22nd – Tuesday 28th March!

Red Nose Day…

On Friday 24th March, it was Red Nose Day. It was so much fun. We had to wear a touch of red to school and we were allowed to dress down if we brought a pound. The first week when the red noses were selling, they all ran out. Altogether, we raised up to £283.25 and everybody’s red noses were so funny and creative! 🙂

   Numbers in French…

During the week, we have been learning French numbers up to 70 and we have been timing ourselves as a class to stand in a circle around the room and go around each person counting from 0 – 70 in French. Our best ever time so far is 1 minute and 4 seconds and we’re hoping to beat that today! 🙂

Space…

On Monday and Tuesday, we have been learning about the International Space Station, Tim Peake and Space Rockets. We learned lots of fun facts about the International Space Station (ISS) and one of them is…

The ISS can hold up to 2 crews. (6 people)

A fact about Tim Peake is…

He was in the ISS for 6 months.

And we learned lots about the Space Rockets and we watched 2 videos of the Space Shuttle Rockets called the Challenger and the Columbus exploding in Space. We also answered all of the questions people wrote up on the blackboard about Space and we have almost finished our Space topic, which for me is sad because I love learning about Space, Planets and theories. It has been so much fun learning about Space! 🙂

Friday 17th March – Wednesday 22nd March!

The Rotary Quiz…

On Friday 17th March, my friends Greer, Charlotte, Angus and James were in a P7 Rotary Quiz competing against Bowhouse and Beancross. There were 8 rounds altogether and in each round were four questions. The Rotary Quiz was all about testing your general knowledge and to see which school would win the Rotary Quiz cup. Everybody else were in seats watching the Rotary Quiz and we brought a sheet of paper and a pencil to keep us occupied. The quiz was getting so close and there were so many ties during the rounds. Eventually, the final scores were in.

3rd place was… Bowhouse!

2nd place was… Beancross!

And… 1st place was… MORAY!!!

We were so proud to come first place. Especially because Bowhouse have been ahead of us for 2 years so we were chuffed to come 1st place. Everybody did so well and we were so happy to finally come 1st! 🙂

Maths Games…

On Monday 20th March, Platinum group brought in their maths games and we shared them to the class. Everybody was so excited to share the games and to play them too. Mine was a Game Show theme and the board game almost took up the full table. It was so much fun and everybody enjoyed all of the board games! 🙂

Constellations…

On Monday 20th March, we learned about constellations and what time of the year to find them. My favourite constellation is Leo the Lion because Leo the Lion is my zodiac symbol and you can find Leo the Lion during Spring Time. We made our own constellations and mine is called Lucky. Lucky is a four-leaved clover and the story behind Lucky is that everybody should be lucky to who they are and it doesn’t matter to what anyone says, you’re lucky to be you! 🙂

Wednesday 1st March – Friday 10th March!

French Restaurant…

On Wednesday 1st March in the afternoon, we finally did our French restaurant. It was so well did and it was so much fun too. P5 were really interested to learn lots of vocabulary and they were really surprised of how well it went. They had such a nice time visiting us and we wish we could do it again. 🙂

BELMONT!

This was the highlight of P7! Throughout Monday 6th March to Friday 10th March, we had a blast at Belmont. We met so many new friends and we’re so excited to meet them in High School too. My favourite activity in Belmont was probably the Archery. I really liked the Night Line too. This is a picture of my friends Katie, Mia, Ellis and I at the Archery. Archery was also Katie’s favourite activity. Belmont was so much fun. I was in Group 10 and all of the activities we did were so entertaining and they kept us so busy.

Monday…

On Monday, we arrived at Belmont. We put all of our suitcases in our dorms then headed off to our first activity. We did Archery and this was my personal favourite. I was so happy to shoot an arrow in the centre of the board and everyone else was amazing! (Especially Miss Stobie!) 🙂

Tuesday…

On Tuesday, we all started off with having our breakfast and then we headed off to our first activity which was Living Outdoors. The Living Outdoors was so tiring. We were walking for what felt like hours. My shoes were getting so muddy but it was worth it. We met horses on the walk and Katie filmed them with her Go-Pro. At the end, we made a fire and had lots of fun! Our next activity was Problem Solving. Problem Solving was quite tricky but it was so much fun. We had to try to get past this obstacle course by only using 3 planks of wood to get our whole team past the obstacles with. We had to pretend the ground was lava so if we touched the ground, (which we did a few times) we had to start back at the beginning again. The Problem Solving was really hard but really enjoyable. The last activity was the Tree Climb. This activity took me about 25-30 minutes to climb up the tree but I finally did it in the end. When I rang the bell at the top, everyone was cheering but they were so chuffed that I took such a long time! 🙂

Wednesday…

On Wednesday morning, we started our first activity off with the Mohawk Walk. The Mohawk Walk was so tricky to do since you had to walk on a tightrope whilst on only some of the rope obstacles, you never had anything to hold on to so you and your partner had to fine a way to get across the tightrope together without falling off. It was so much fun and it was so enjoyable too. Our next activity was the Flying Fox. I loved this one. We only got one shot on the Flying Fox but it was so breath-taking and amazing. I had my Go-Pro at this point and my friend Katie filmed her going on the Flying Fox. This was one of my favourites. Our last activity was You, Me and Evacuee. For this one, with the objects around us, we had to try to grab a cone is a swing that was connected to a tree although there was a rope circle around the tree and we weren’t allowed to go inside there. It was a little bit of problem solving to collect the cone and although we didn’t collect the cone, it was still a lot of fun! 🙂

Thursday…

On Thursday, the first activity we did was DEN. DEN was so cool because you were allowed to go in a massive river and there was a park next to the river so we all played there and had such a good time. After that, we did Radio Rescue which was a little frightening since there was a mannequin that was pretending to be just in an accident and it was badly injured so we had to try to find a first kit aid, a stretcher and a couple of clues to where the mannequin is. It was very fun and also very entertaining too. Our last activity of the day was Orienteering. Orienteering was quite hard because you had to try and find these little cards with letters on them and report them to the instructor and altogether, the Orienteering was so much fun although it didn’t last very long because we later had the DISCO! (My favourite part of the week!) the Disco was so loud, there were so many of our friends that we met before from different schools there and there were so many different songs that suited a Disco style! The Disco was amazing and everyone had such a great time! 🙂

Friday…

This was our last day here at Belmont. Everyone was sad to leave but we did miss our family so much so it was a sad but happy time. We finished off with one last activity and the activity we finished off with was the Night Line! This activity was so much fun and so funny. The best part was… We were BLIND FOLDED! We had to go through obstacles of tyres, ropes, logs, tunnels and MUD! The mud part was the worst, I hate getting muddy although since it was our last day at Belmont and we were about to go on the bus, we didn’t have to crawl though the muddiest part of the Night Line since we didn’t want to get the bus muddy and we wouldn’t have time to have a shower or clean ourselves afterwards. I found it so funny trying to get through the obstacles because I sometimes ran off and didn’t know where I was going and our teachers were poking us with stick and chucking mud on our faces. It was my second favourite activity and I was so happy to survive Belmont! 🙂

We made a short movie about the time we were in Belmont! Here’s the link to the short movie…

Wednesday 15th February-Wednesday 1st March

Monday 20th February…

Science at the High School…

On Monday, we went to the High School and we learned about ‘Science’.

It was so fun to learn about science because we were learning about ‘Friction and Non-Friction’ and we learned lots of interesting facts about science that surprised us a little bit.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone…

On Monday, we started to read ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’. So far, it’s very fun to read and we’ve came across some very interesting parts in the book. We’re reading this book for Literacy Week which is this week. We read this book every day until it’s finished and I can’t wait to see what’s coming next in the book.

Thursday 23rd February…

Harry Potter Wands and Boxes…

On Thursday, we made Harry Potters wands and boxes. They were really fun to make. We made our boxes with black paper and we made our boxes look 3D by outlining the shape of a 3D box with chalk. Everybody’s wand turned out fantastic and we’ve made a shop on the door windows in the corridor stairs.

Wednesday 15th – Friday 24th…

Planets and Dwarf Planets…

Through the weeks, we’ve been learning about our Solar System’s planets and dwarf planets. We’ve learned that the planets in order are:

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

We also learned about the names of the dwarf planets. They are:

Pluto, Ceres, Haumea, Makemake and Eris.

It is so much fun to learn about the Solar System and I can’t wait to see what we’re doing next about our space topic.

Through The Weeks…

French Restaurant…

Throughout the weeks, we’ve been making a French restaurant and we were creating the foods out of paper and paint. Our French restaurant is so much fun. We’ve also been learning lots of vocabulary in French connected to what you would usually say at a restaurant. Today after lunch, the P5s are coming to our classroom to be our diners and some of us are going to be waiters/waitress’ and serve them everything in French. I can’t wait for later on today. It will be so much fun.

It has been so busy over the past weeks and it has also been so much fun! 🙂
