Primary 3/2 had lots of fun at their Sports Day today! Unfortunately our lovely Scottish weather meant that it couldn’t be held outside on the astroturf as planned, but we didn’t let that didn’t spoil our fun! In the morning we enjoyed taking part in P2 and P3 sprint and egg and spoon races – check out photos of our winners below! We all had fun though and realised it was about taking part and enjoying ourselves! In the afternoon we got to take part in potted sports where we tried lots of different activities to earn points for our houses – it was lots of fun!

Personal Research Projects
Over the last 2 weeks, P3/2 have been working on their personal research projects as part of their homework. They could choose to do it on a hobby they are interested in, a city or country, their favourite band or sport, anything at all! I am so impressed at the quality of work the boys and girls have produced. We have had lots of varied topics, presented in many different ways including posters, books, Powerpoint presentations and cubes! The children have been so enthusiastic about researching and presenting their topic of choice; it is clear we have some very independent learners in P3/2!
Fun in Music
Health Fortnight
After a very busy couple of weeks, we are now well and truly into Term 4! We started the term off with our Health Fortnight. During this time we learned all about how to keep ourselves safe and healthy. This included road safety and types of crossings, dental hygiene and the importance of a healthy, balanced diet. We got to take part in taster sessions including taekwondo, rugby and dance. Some of us had never tried these sports before so it was a brilliant opportunity to give them a go. We also had iBike day which was very popular, we got to try out a bike obstacle course. Not forgetting our ‘Run to Rio’ challenge, where each class has been out running a mile each day. We are hoping our total adds up to 6000 miles, which is the distance from Falkirk to Rio in Brazil! Have a look at some of our photos. 🙂
Farewell Mrs Adamson and Happy Holidays!
Today we said an emotional farewell to our Headteacher, Mrs Adamson. She has been the Headteacher at Kinnaird since the school opened in 2008, and is now moving on to another job. She will be sadly missed! We sang the school song to wish her farewell and good luck.
Thank you to all my lovely boys and girls for all of your hard work over Term 3, it has been a very busy but enjoyable one! Thanks also to parents and families for your continued support over the term. Wishing you all a very happy holidays, have fun and take care!
Miss Taylor 🙂
Roman Army!
P3/2 are now fully-fledged recruits of the Roman army after our workshop today! We had lots of fun getting to look at and try on the different weapons and equipment. We even learned to march in formation and used our shields to make the tortoise (testudo in Latin). We all really enjoyed this hands-on learning experience, thanks to Joe from The Antonine Guard (TAG) for delivering our workshop and also to parents and families for supporting this!
Sports Relief 2016!
We had lots of fun today taking part in Sports Relief! We went for a ‘power walk’ around the school and local area before lunchtime. After lunch we took part in a whole-school dance to the official Sports Relief song out on the pitch, some parents even came along to watch too! Then we got to take part in lots of exercise stations in the gym hall. Thank you for all your donations, helping us raise money for a great cause!
