This term we are finishing off our Giant of Thistle Mountain topic.  We are also looking at Scots poetry in the lead up to Burns night.  We are learning a Scots poem to take part in our whole-school Scots poetry competition.  Primary 2 are learning ‘The Crocodile’ by J.K. Annand.  Primary 3 are learning ‘The Sair Finger’ by Walter Wingate.  Both groups are enjoying learning the Scots language used in their poems.  Miss Taylor will hear all the children recite their poems on Friday 22nd January, before choosing a final 3 from P2 and P3.  The winners will then be decided and their parents will be invited to assembly the following week.  Stay tuned to find out our winners!  After the February break we will then go on to explore the Romans.  The boys and girls are very excited about this!
