Description

With their long arms and itchy fur they  actually resemble monkeys! They can be 2 to 2.5 feet long! and depending on species can weigh from 8 to 17 pounds.

Diet

sloths usually eat  leaves, twigs and buds. it takes days for them to process what other animals can digest in a matter of hours!

Young

A single sloth is born after less than six months of pregnancy.  Newborn sloths cling to their mother’s pouches and remain with their mother until at least five months of age.

Habitat

Sloths of Central and South America spend their lives in the tropical rain forests  They move through the forests at a rate of about 40 yards per day!

Facts

Without sloths there would be no avocados!
