Probationer Teachers<\/h1>\n
Within Falkirk Council we offer a structured induction year in line with the expectations and requirements of the national Teacher Induction Scheme, through which Probationer colleagues work to gain full registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). Support is also provided to Probationers gaining full registration via the Flexible Route.<\/div>\n

Where can I access resources and information?<\/h2>\n

Our Probationer Support team is in direct contact with Probationers within Falkirk. A MS Teams space is set up each August for both Primary and Secondary cohorts and this, along with emails and face to face meetings & CLPL sessions, allows us to share resources and information. There is also a MS Teams space for School Supporters. Both Probationer and Probationer Supporter Handbooks are shared at the start of each year, sharing key information and providing useful reminders and FAQs about the year ahead. The GTCS website also has a wealth of information relevant to Probationer teachers in relation to their journey to full registration GTC Scotland – the independent regulator for teachers in Scotland.<\/p>\n

How do I stay up to date?<\/h2>\n

Probationer teachers can keep up to date with the Probationer Support team on Bluesky @fcprobsupport. We also encourage Probationers to follow each other, other schools, and the central QI Team on Bluesky to keep up to date with examples of practice and developments which could support their own teaching.<\/p>\n
