However, for me I am led by the children through the concept of <strong>\u2018freedom with guidance\u2019<\/strong> with a <strong>strong shared vision <\/strong>where I am guided by my values which are <strong>underpinned and lived through Froebelian Principles.<\/strong> It is also extremely important to share <strong>I am one of many leaders within our Falkirk Froebel Family<\/strong> and <strong>early years community as we are all leaders in our own right <\/strong>where there is <strong>equal autonomy and relationships do truly matter<\/strong>. Central to our Froebelian approach is to <strong>collaborate,<\/strong> as we <strong>live and learn together<\/strong> from one another which includes our <strong>youngest wee people<\/strong>, <strong>practitioner\u2019s, families, communities<\/strong> embracing a <strong>diverse, equitable culture<\/strong>, that respects the <strong>environment<\/strong> we live in and with.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Falkirk Froebel Family <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Currently we have <strong>155 Falkirk Froebel Family<\/strong> Froebelians<\/p>\n<p>We have <strong>34 Falkirk Early learning and childcare and school settings with trained Froebelian\u2019s<\/strong> who have \u00a0completed the University of Edinburgh Froebel and Childhood Practice Course.<\/p>\n<p>Currently there are a <strong>further 45 funded pla<\/strong>ces for <strong>2022-23<\/strong> and Falkirk applications have been submitted.<\/p>\n<p>Each Falkirk Froebelian creates a <strong>wonderful Froebel project<\/strong> within our Falkirk settings and communities:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fa\/public\/falkirkearlyyears\/uploads\/sites\/1373\/2022\/05\/23101137\/Picture1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3581 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fa\/public\/falkirkearlyyears\/uploads\/sites\/1373\/2022\/05\/23101137\/Picture1-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"296\" height=\"166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fa\/public\/falkirkearlyyears\/uploads\/sites\/1373\/2022\/05\/23101137\/Picture1-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fa\/public\/falkirkearlyyears\/uploads\/sites\/1373\/2022\/05\/23101137\/Picture1.jpg 395w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 296px) 100vw, 296px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>There have been many highlights throughout the year but here are a few: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In November 2021 I <a href=\"https:\/\/edinburgh.stageclip.com\/clip\/donna-green-the-degree-of-master-of-science-education-early-childhood-practice-and-froebel-080de\"><strong>Graduated <\/strong><\/a>with a <strong>MSc in Early Childhood Practice and Froebel<\/strong> where I focused my dissertation on \u2018<strong>Exploring Slow Pedagogy through the Froebelian Lens\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fa\/public\/falkirkearlyyears\/uploads\/sites\/1373\/2022\/05\/23101219\/Picture2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3582 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fa\/public\/falkirkearlyyears\/uploads\/sites\/1373\/2022\/05\/23101219\/Picture2-300x162.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"162\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fa\/public\/falkirkearlyyears\/uploads\/sites\/1373\/2022\/05\/23101219\/Picture2-300x162.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fa\/public\/falkirkearlyyears\/uploads\/sites\/1373\/2022\/05\/23101219\/Picture2-768x415.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fa\/public\/falkirkearlyyears\/uploads\/sites\/1373\/2022\/05\/23101219\/Picture2.jpg 955w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fa\/public\/falkirkearlyyears\/uploads\/sites\/1373\/2022\/05\/23101245\/Picture3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3583 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fa\/public\/falkirkearlyyears\/uploads\/sites\/1373\/2022\/05\/23101245\/Picture3-300x213.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"213\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fa\/public\/falkirkearlyyears\/uploads\/sites\/1373\/2022\/05\/23101245\/Picture3-300x213.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/fa\/public\/falkirkearlyyears\/uploads\/sites\/1373\/2022\/05\/23101245\/Picture3.jpg 353w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Froebel and Slow Pedagogy <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following on from my dissertation this year, I have been leading a <strong>Froebel Trust funded project<\/strong> on <strong>Implementing Slow Pedagogy in ELC through Froebelian Principled Practice<\/strong>. This has involved <strong>working with three of our fantastic Falkirk ELC<\/strong> <strong>communities: Bantaskin ELC, Larbert ELCC and Glendevon ELCC <\/strong>along with having the pleasure to learn from and <strong>with Professor Alison Clark whose Froebel Trust\u00a0 research \u2018Slow knowledge and the unhurried child\u201d<\/strong> was drawn on to support thinking. This has been an amazing way to collectively collaborate and learn together across our communities. One of the many positive benefits is the impact and joy <strong>\u2018Song of the Moment\u2019<\/strong> is having within the Easter Carmuirs early years community. Where this has very much been a process of starting with the child which embraces the many benefits singing can bring through play and real-life experiences for every child. A collaboration created by Falkirk Froebelians, Fab Falkirk Folk, Speech and language therapy, YMI to share and use across our communities.<\/p>\n<p>Click the link for an example of our latest Family Songs sway and we welcome everyone to use this resource: <a href=\"https:\/\/sway.office.com\/MqgXvYcyNF8hMOwx?ref=Link\">https:\/\/sway.office.com\/MqgXvYcyNF8hMOwx?ref=Link<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Froebelian Futures <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This year Falkirk were invited to be part of the fabulous Froebelian Futures project, which is in partnership with The University of Edinburgh, Cowgate Under 5\u2019s centre and funded through the Froebel Trust. It has <strong>given the practitioners and leads the skills and confidence to carry out action research within their establishments<\/strong> and they have <strong>produced some wonderful research<\/strong> on \u201c<strong>Froebel for Families<\/strong>\u201d,\u201d <strong>A Froebelian Approach to Observation<\/strong>\u201d, \u201c<strong>Embedding Froebelian Principles in a Progressive Play Pedagogy<\/strong>\u201d, \u201c<strong>Are We Seeing the Super in Superhero Play<\/strong>?\u201d and \u201c<strong>Making Children\u2019s Participation and Perceptions Matter<\/strong>\u201d.
