Who We Are

The Educational Psychology Service is led by Nick Balchin, Principal Educational Psychologist. There are 12 Educational Psychologists working for Falkirk Council (full time equivalent of 9.1fte). We also offer placements for up to 2 Trainee Educational Psychologists. Of this 1.6 fte is ring fenced for 3 funded projects on Early Years, Community Mental Health and Wellbeing and GIRFEC Practice.

Each member of the team is linked to a cluster or group of schools. We are based in Sealock House in Grangemouth and visit schools, nurseries and social work offices in normal circumstances. Currently we are based at home although will visit, in line with Covid-19 guidance.

All Educational Psychologists are trained to a postgraduate level, registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council and abide by the Code of Ethics and Conduct of the British Psychological Society.
