The opening of Inside Outside Eco Pod

Yesterday the provost came to our school to open the inside outside eco pod and our one planet picnic.  Our one planet picnic was all about local, seasonal and ethically produced foods.  High school pupil Jordan Montgomery came and piped us in with his bag pipes, some people spoke and the provost cut the ribbon. Miss MacAulay and a few pupils put the sign on the gate. There was a BBQ for the parents, we got all different kind of fruit foods and they were all yummy! The rain came on and we got soaked and so did all the mats that we sat on and the tables.

Maths – Measure

Our maths class went out to measure stuff like the outdoor classroom and the tarmac. We used a trundle wheel and we also went in the hall and measured the piano and the pick ‘n’ mix tables. We then went and worked out the measure and height in our math class it was really confusing. When we figured out the answers we then went back to our own class and that day was really fun.

Maths – Volume

Our maths class went outside to measure water in all different jugs. We made a mess with all the water we all had different challenges. Our first challenge was to measure what was in the bucket. Our second challenge was how many cups we could fill with water out of 2000 ml. our third challenge was to find out how much water could go in a small bottle.

Transport Mural P5N

On Monday 12th of March P5N painted some of the mural in the wee end. The mural shows healthy ways to come to school. We had to wear a white jump suit and a mask to protect our self from the spray paint so we don’t get our clothes all stained. All of our class enjoyed doing the mural and it was really good painting the wall. We all got to spray paint one part of the wall that Scott gave us to do on the mural. Some of us sprayed the flowers or some of us painted some of the bushes or the bike. P5N all enjoyed doing the mural it was great fun.

P4 visit Muiravonside

On Thursday 15th of September, P4 went to see Muiravonside Country Park. We went to see the history of the park, which used to be owned by the Stirling family.

We went to see Dobbie’s house and a Witches house. They were deep in the woods, but near to the river. We also saw the Stirling family graveyard, and had to say a password to get in.

We also went to the farm and the play park. At the farm we saw big fat round pigs, a shetland pony, two lamas, loads of baby chicks and three big bulls with horns like viking helmets.

We really enjoyed it. By Primary 4.
