As part of Eco Week Primary 3 went out to litter pick. We are working towards a new green flag. We worked in partners to spot and pick up the litter. Most of the litter was underneath the trees and bushes. People drop litter and the wind blows here. Remember to always put your litter in the bin.

Whole School Litter Pick!
On Tuesday 21st May 2013 the whole school had a litter pick day around the school and Glasgow Road. People came from Tesco and Falkirk council to help us. First we had to choose a partner. Then went around the park, the co-op and the football pitch behind the school. It was so dirty and there was lots of litter. There were sweetie wrappers, glass, and crisps packets, plastic, Irn bru cans and Cola cans.
After playtime everyone meet in the hall. The primary 7s and primary 6s went to Glasgow Road. We split up into three groups. One group went along to the bottom end, another group went to the top end and one stayed in the middle. At the top and middle there was loads of rubbish like hats, scarves, gloves, spoons, forks, knifes and metal bars .After that we back to school. We hope everyone uses a litter bin and is responsible for their own rubbish. Josh
World Of Work by P7
On Thursday 9th May in the afternoon we had a World of Work event. It was held in our school hall. We invited local businesses in to talk about and perform their professions. Leading to the afternoon, I was excited and anxious; I was very interested in hearing the employees from local businesses.
Building up to the event, our tasks in ICT time were to find local businesses to contact them and to create an eye-catching poster to advertise the event. Just before the event, we were given a list of people attending.
I was very excited when we entered the room; our first station was a butcher just adjacent to us. They used complicated machines and utensils to shape the meat. Next was P.C.McInnes and he did a Q&A session about his profession. Next was a wood joiner, then Tony Bragg, who talked about how everything was quality checked before it happened/was, consumed. Next was Danielle’s dad who was a door supervisor. He talked about how he filtered out aggressive alcoholics and calm, collected people just wanting a good time. Finally, there were two gymnasts.
This was a great event and it was very interesting and I enjoyed it. The only criticism I have is that I wish it was extended to a full day rather than a full afternoon. Adam
