Can it really be three months since my last blog post?\u00a0Doesn&#8217;t time fly when you are having fun \ud83d\ude42\u00a0\u00a0I am thoroughly enjoying this term as I am bumping into things that I was aware of this time last year.\u00a0 Although I wasn&#8217;t actually in post until the August I had been through the interviews by now and met some of the children and staff.\u00a0 I had also popped into school to visit the Summer Fayre and meet some of the Parent Council and other families.\u00a0 So this song seemed like it met the criteria, it also sounds like a properly summer song to me so a winner on both counts!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Average White Band - Lets Go Round Again (Remastered Audio)\" width=\"474\" height=\"356\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pmUKmW4BYXM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Again I&#8217;m not a huge fan of the genre, but\u00a0the thing I particularly like about the Average White Band is that that they kind of defy expectation.\u00a0 If we knew of a band from Scotland with members\u00a0including \u00a0Alan, Robbie, Hamish and Malcolm, hands up who would expect them to sound like this!\u00a0 That defiance of expectation really tickles me and is something that is regularly floating about in my mind.<\/p>\n<p>As we talk as a school community one of my favourite phrases is &#8220;We will be judged on what we do, not on what we say&#8221;.\u00a0 I say it at most assemblies, in all classes and in regular meetings too because I believe it to be true.\u00a0 If the name Easter Carmuirs Primary School is mentioned outside of Camelon, what is the expectation of our school and of our children?\u00a0 Does the rest of the world have as high expectations of our\u00a0school as we all do?\u00a0 I don&#8217;t think they do &#8211; but I believe they should and the best way to change expectation is to confound it.\u00a0\u00a0 We are currently building our Standards and Quality report to share with you early in the new session and this is a really encouraging piece of work because it forces to look at how far we have come in a year, where the improvements have happened and evaluating what has been successful.\u00a0 It also challenges us to continue and develop that improvement.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s go round again \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>We also have a number of staff changes heading into next session as we noted on the tweet below<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"474\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Lots of changes at Easter Carmuirs. The School Improvement Plan is in place, supported by the contextual analysis outlining the main areas for development and driven by the feedback from families, outlining the barriers to children
