It allows users to quickly move between systems while maintaining security.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is changing?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This move will mean that:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your old email and diary content will be migrated to the new service<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your email address suffix will change, identifying you specifically as education staff: @education.falkirk.sch.uk This change will also be made to your establishment mailboxes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your PC network passwords will move to a more secure format<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will have access to wider Council communications and be able to work and share content more easily across the Council.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once the change has been made, access to email will only be via Council PC Desktop, Council phone, Council laptop, and Connected Falkirk iPad.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Staff working in education establishments over the summer will temporarily lose access to email on the date their establishment is migrated.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remote access to email via Connected Falkirk iPad over the summer holiday period will be disrupted.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2><b>What about Glow?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This email migration does not affect Glow services. Glow is a national tenancy (\u278a) managed by the Scottish Government. Education staff should continue to use Glow for curricular use with learners as standard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u278a <\/span><b>Tenancy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; a group of users who share a common access with specific privileges to software.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2><b>What do I have to do?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not much! Corporate IT will organise the migration and much of the process will happen automatically on an agreed date during the summer. When you return to school in August there will be a few steps you\u2019ll have to take in order to regain access to your email account. While there will be auto-forwarding from your old mailbox to your new mailbox, this will only continue for as long as the old tenancy is active.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2><b>Why do I have to change my password?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new PC network password style will be enforced in August, to bring it in line with wider Falkirk Council password standards.
