Recipes

Playdough

You will need: 1 small cup, a large bowl and a spoon

Oil

Salt

Water

Flour

      • Put ¼ cup of oil into a bowl
      • Add 2 large sprinkles of salt into the bowl
      • Add 1 small cup of water into the bowl and mix
      • Add 1 handful of flour into the bowl and continue to mix
      • Keep adding 1 handful of flour at a time and mix together, try to create a smooth texture in the mix between handfuls of flour (don’t worry if the mixture looks a bit like porridge at this stage).
      • Once the mixture takes on a dough like consistency, take it out of the bowl sprinkle some flour on top and knead the dough
*tips – If your dough is too crumbly add some more water.  If your dough is too oily add more flour

Gloop

1 cup of cold water

2 cups of cornflour

Food colouring (optional)

Then mix all together.  It should feel a bit watery on top and gooey at the bottom and it will mix together the more your child plays with it.  Add more cornflour or water to get a consistency you are happy with.

*tip – add various containers and spoons to the experience.

Shaving Foam

Be sure to use sensitive foam as it tends to not cause irritation to children’s sensitive skin.  Spray onto a surface like a table or a kitchen basin and let your child explore.

Coloured Spaghetti

You will need:

Water

Oil

Salt

Dry Spaghetti

Food colouring

      • Cook the spaghetti in boiling water.
      • Add a little salt and a few drops of food colouring
      • Drain the spaghetti once fully cooked
      • Leave to cool
      • Let your child explore
*tip – add various containers and spoons to the experience.
