Mini Challenge Task
Pupil completed the following mini challenge task as a warm up to the Live Lesson. They used Mark Up tools to add themselves or a character to the Astronaut suit. They also made a kit list of everything they would need to pack to visit the moon and used the Mark Up tools to add this to the image.
Lunar Lookbook
Pupils were supported by the Lunar Lookbook to help with ideas to design their own custom Lunar Rovers. The Lookbook contains ideas for each step of the design mission: Chassis, Wheels, Power Up and Gadgets.
More Activities
Had fun creating a custom Lunar Rover? The fun doesn’t have to end there! Why not had a go at these extension tasks?

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the British Science Week 2026 Lunar Lab Live lesson and the pre-recorded session via our YouTube Channel. Over 600 pupils across 16 schools took part live on Wednesday 11th March 2026!
Every single Lunar Rover creation submitted to us by our Falkirk Space Engineers during and after the lesson has been used to create our very own Connected Falkirk Lunar Rover Fleet. We have loved seeing every single rover and the creativity that has gone in to each of them.
The completed Connected Falkirk Lunar Rover Fleet is hosted on the Moon! Each Rover has been stationed at different bases on the Moon, along with some other items to spot and find! We wonder what you will be able to see?
We hope you enjoy exploring the Moon and looking for your own Lunar Rover!
You can view the full Lunar Rover Fleet using your Connected Falkirk device by either our Freeform link* or our downloadable PDF version.

*Calibrating our Satellite Dish… as the Connected Falkirk Lunar Rover Fleet is stationed on the moon, when using the above links please allow time for data to traverse the 238,855 mile commute from the Connected Falkirk Lunar Base!
