Polar Pixel Pals

In December 2025, Connected Falkirk’s Mari-Jane Wilcox led young explorers in this ‘Polar Pixel Pals’ festive live interactive lesson.

Pupils designed their own wonderful winter creatures and pixel pals using iPads and Apple’s creative tools, explored and used key concepts like counting, symmetry, and patterning to structure their designs and shared their dazzling fun designs to be added to the Connected Falkirk Winter Wonderland Exhibit.

Results

A massive thank you to everyone who took part in the Polar Pixel Pals Live lesson, or pre-recorded session. Over 300 pupils took part live on Friday 5th December 2025! 

Every single Polar Pixel Pal creation sent in to us by pupils during and after the lesson has been used to create our very own Connected Falkirk Winter Wonderland. Everyone’s creativity has made this virtual winter wonderland truly magical.

The completed Winter Wonderland is split into different themed sections showcasing the incredible range of design ideas.

The main scene, Winter Wonderland, contains various different signs which link directly to another specific themed Winter Wonderland scene: Santa’s House, Penguin Ice Rink, The Snow Ball, Polar Bear Play park and The Winter Market.

The Connected Falkirk logo in any of the themed scenes will act as your quick link back to the main Winter Wonderland page.
