The Eco Club have been busy planting outdoors
More hard work at Eco Club this week. We have been given lots of veg seeds, so we set about clearing this bed to give us more growing space. We have the right to healthy food!๐ฅ ๐ฅฆ ๐ #growyourown #carmuirsrights pic.twitter.com/AV56hLUOUe

We were busy at Eco Club today, starting to tidy our garden. Itโs a work in progress – check back for updates. ๐ Thank you to our nursery parent who donated the sweet peas for us to plant. ๐ธ๐ฑ If anyone has any extra plants over the coming months, weโd love them for our garden! pic.twitter.com/w0Zk12oQU8

Tree planting in the sun was a lovely way to end a Tuesday๐ณโ๏ธ We have 2 ๐ and 2 ๐ trees. As well as producing fruit, these trees will capture carbon, which helps in the fight against climate change. @TCVtweets @QGCanopy #trees #SDG13 #sustainability pic.twitter.com/vLSEpUazX6

We were busy at Eco Club ๐๐ฑ We planted out finished daffodils so the bulbs will hopefully flower next year. We also checked on and watered the bulbs we planted a few weeks back. The P2s love of Disney is being embraced and linked to SDGs.
We are trying to help our friends in Kenya rebuild their education centre for Refugee children
Support our friends in Kenya – SDG4/ Article 29
We have been collaborating with Kakuma Vocational Center in Kenya. Kakuma is a refugee settlement. Families cannot afford to send their children to school. The Vocational Center educates over 800 refugee children in STEM subjects to prepare them for the world of work. Sadly their building was burned down. We have been considering why we value education so much.
P1 have been reading Malalaโs Magic Pencil and discovered that in some places girls cannot have an education or do the jobs they want. ย We have set up a Flipgrid for children to share their voices about why education is important. We have contributions for children in Canada, India and Kenya so far.
P1 and 2 asked for a healthy snack time each day and they got it!
Mount Abu School in India told us about Indiaโs Republic Day
We are glad you had glimpse of our Republic Day celebrations as well.
The National COVID-19 vaccination drive of India is worldโs largest vaccination drive and has been unprecedented in both scale and reach. 1.6 Billion Vaccinations Given & Counting ๐ #SDG3 @mansukhmandviya ๐ฎ๐ณ https://t.co/o6W0pdSb4W— Mount Abu School ๐ฎ๐ณ (@MtAbuSchool) January 25, 2022

Our Blue Elephant in Kenya
Blue Ellie has been to Kenya staying at Kakuma Refugee Settlement. She has been doing a joint STEM project between our schools.
