Perhaps you would like to hear more about effective practice from other establishments? Joining a network might be for you!

Falkirk’s Numeracy & Mathematics Network

Established at the start of 2025-26, our authority network brings together practitioners from across all levels and sectors, to support the sustained improvement of Numeracy and Mathematics across Falkirk. The network is aimed at practitioners with leadership responsibility for Numeracy and Maths, or with a particular interest in the subject. This year, the main focus of the network is on the co-development of our new ‘Falkirk Adds Up’ strategy. Three in-person meetings have been planned for across the year, two of which are still to take place:

Thursday 5th March 4.00-5.30pm @ Comely Park PS

Thursday 11th of June 4.00-5.30pm @ The Foundry

In 2026-27, the focus of the network meetings will shift to the implementation of our new strategy and National Curriculum Improvement Cycle developments.

If you are interested in joining the network for the remainder or this years’ sessions, or would like to express interest in joining in 2026-27, please contact Falkirk’s Numeracy and Mathematics Officer @ashley.page@falkirk.gov.uk

National Numeracy Networks

There are two main National Networks for Numeracy and Mathematics, hosted by Education Scotland. Both networks meet on a quarterly basis online to share effective practice, and up-to-date information on national developments, such as the Curriculum Improvement Cycle;

  • The National Numeracy Practitioner Network is aimed at all practitioners across all sectors. If you are interested in joining this network, sign up here.
  • The National Numeracy Leads Network is aimed at numeracy leads and senior leaders with a leadership role in Numeracy and Mathematics. This includes secondary maths PT’s and faculty heads.  If you are interested in joining this network, sign up here.
