The aim of these workshops is to provide practitioners with an understanding of the Singapore approach to the teaching of Maths and its 4 elements:
- A set off pedagogic principles based on the work of key educational theorist like Piaget, Dienes, Bruner, Skemp and Vygotsky – Now called the mastery approach.
- Ways of delivering learning in the classroom.
- The number of tools that enable pupils to develop their mathematical understanding
- Resources that support the teacher and learner to progress
The workshop will also explore the key ideas that supports mathematical understanding in Singapore.
