This year's shortlisted authors.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Scottish Children’s Book Awards <\/a>are run by the Scottish Book Trust<\/a> with support from Creative Scotland<\/a>. It is\u00a0voted for entirely by children, with over 38,000 children across Scotland voting last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Falkirk Council’s\u00a0Learning Resource Service<\/a> is leading an initiative\u00a0to add value to the Book Award for local nurseries and primary schools, which aims to promote reading for enjoyment and to\u00a0motivate our children to become lifelong readers.<\/p>\n

The schools will follow the Scottish Children\u2019s Book Award \u2018Bookbug Reader\u2019 (3-7) and \u2018Younger Readers\u2019 (8-11) categories.<\/p>\n

The Learning Resource Service will provide copies of the shortlisted books and organise a celebration of reading event to showcase the literacy work\u00a0attended by the shortlisted authors.<\/p>\n

Sharing ideas<\/span><\/p>\n

This year 19 nurseries and primary schools are taking part and there\u00a0is a lot of great literacy\u00a0ideas\u00a0and work being created.<\/p>\n
