Is your school up for a UK-wide Maths Challenge?

Can your pupils become national maths champions? Will they claim maths glory for your school?

Together with the British Science Association, the free online maths resource Manga High is running a UK-wide Maths Challenge. Manga High is a free online games-based maths teaching resource aimed at 7-16 year-olds.

Mangahigh.com combines the development of maths skills with video game format games and social network models for entertainment and harness the power of social competition for building engagement.

The free competition (for UK schools only) will run for 9 days, as part of National Science & Engineering Week, from midday on Friday 9th March through to midday on Sunday 18th 2012, and is open to all UK schools (secondary and primary).

The school that scores the most points on Manga High during the Challenge will be crowned National Champions, winning medals and certificates for their top students, presented in person by eminent mathematician and TV star, Dr Marcus Du Sautoy.

You’ll be entered into the Challenge automatically once you’ve logged in to ManagaHigh, so you don’t need to do anything, other than get your pupils warmed up with as much Mangahigh as possible before it starts!

If your school is not yet registered on Manga High, then it’s very easy to get started – and if you’re not sure if your school has already been previously registered then click here for the list of registered schools.
