Today’s session was vocabulary around clothes. The children all participated well and have sheets in their trays with some fun ideas for home.
This weeks Friday CHAT group was session 2 and focused on vocabularly around animals (click on CHAT page on the right for more information). The song from this session was Old MacDonald had a Farm and you can find the video in the songs category. Parents sheets were also provided with lots of activities for parents and children to do at home.
Todays session was all about the home. The children all enjoyed taking part and the parent’s sheets has lots of fun ways to promote vocabulary about the home. The song used during this session of the CHAT group was I’m a Little Teapot.
Tomorrow afternoon we will be starting a CHAT early langugae group with the children. The purpose of this group is to encourage listening, turn taking and language skills in young children (see the CHAT page on the right for more details).
Some of the children have been playing games such as Dotty Dinosaurs and Red Dog, Blue Dog which help to promote sorting and matching skills as well as turn taking.
