A selection of primary 7’s attended the Netball Festival at Grangemouth Sports Complex. They all played really well and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are very proud of eveyone’s effort. Well Done!
We had a visit from Mrs Burns and Mr White from Grangrmouth Heritage Centre. They brought different items which were used during WW2 and let us try on all of the genuine clothing from this time. We learned all about the history of WW2 in Scotland and really enjoyed turning the air raid siren.
These are the skills we developed when making our St Paul’s Cathedral images.
We made British Spitfire planes, German Dornier 17 planes, Anderson Air raid Shelters and an image of the London bombings. When making these we developed the 7 visual elements and learned about perspective.
We drew a grid over a map of the world to include 4 quadrants. We then located the countries of the Allies and the Axis Powers of World War 2 and coloured these using a key. Next we identified the co-ordinates of each country and marked these on our map.
As part of their World War 2 topic and their writing focus for this term, primary 7 took on the role of a journalist and their storyline character. They then interviewed one another to find out their thoughts and opinions around the outbreak of war.
