A fantastic morning was had by all on our recent trip to Tesco Redding to take part in the Farm to Fork project. We got to taste, touch, feel and smell lots of different foods. Thank you to everyone at Tesco who supported our learning.

Science: Day and Night Roadshow
We really enjoyed the science roadshow on Friday (16th of May).
Emily and Holly were lucky to be selected as helpers!
Holly had to help to hold the sun, while Emily had to find Scotland on the globe.
Hockey Taster Session
As part of our learning for the Commonwealth Games we are taking part in 3 weeks of hockey sessions with Paul a player with Falkirk Hockey Club. This week we were all learning how to hold our sticks correctly and to control the ball.
Myself and My Family Topic
As part of our new topic this term we have been learning about hygiene. We have been learning how to wash our hands, keep germs away and how to look after our teeth.
To help us with our topic Mrs Cooper (Grace’s mum) kindly came into our class on Friday the 7th of February to tell us all about her job as a dental hygienist. We had great fun learning about how to look after our teeth with Mrs Cooper. She taught us about plaque (we made furry teeth with cotton wool), how to brush our teeth properly (with the help of her puppet), about foods that are good for our teeth and foods that are not so good and finally about how much sugar you can find in some of the foods we eat.
We even got some special stickers and a colouring in sheet for working so hard!

Houses and Homes Walk 11.12.13
This morning we went for a walk around Hallglen and Glen Village to look at the different types of houses and homes in our community for our topic work.

Houses and Homes Topic
We have recently started our new topic – “Houses and Homes”.
The children have shared their knowledge prior to starting our topic – here are a few of the comments regarding what they already knew about Houses and Homes:
Maisie – “Some people have big houses and some people have small houses.”
Grace – “You have a front door at the front of your house.”
Hannah – “You have a bathroom inside a house.”
Ryan – “Houses have windows.”
