Falkirk Community Planning Partnership

Community Planning brings representatives from the public, private third and community sectors together to endeavour to deliver better public services to the area. By working together and sharing resources under the Community Planning Partnership, organisations can better plan and provide for the wellbeing of the community. Falkirk Community Planning Partnership (CPP) produces the Strategic Outcome, Local Delivery (SOLD) Plan.

Falkirk Children’s Commission is a sub group of Falkirk Community Planning Partnership, it is the multi-agency collaborative that leads and supports agencies to work together to improve outcomes and meet the needs of children and young people. Falkirk Children’s Commission has representatives from all services, statutory and voluntary, working within Children’s Services in Falkirk.

The Commission Structure has been reviewed to deliver the 4 priorities of the ICSP.

Children’s Commission Structure 2017

The Commission is responsible for ensuring outcomes are achieved as identified in the Integrated Children’s Services Plan 2016-2019 (ICSP). The ICSP is now a statutory duty under part 3 of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014.

The Commission Leadership Group wants to improve accountability and reporting. SOLD groups and Commission task groups are aligned to the 4 priorities in the ICSP to ensure we focus our work on the key priorities. Groups are accountable to the Leadership Group via the Commission planning Group. Participation of children, young people and their families is now firmly part of the new structure via the Falkirk Children and Young People Forum. The Forum will formalise involvement of many existing groups in planning services for children and young people.

Wider Children’s Commission events happen twice each year. The events bring together leaders, middle managers and practitioners to contribute to planning and quality improvement of children’s services. The Wider Commission is a key forum that will support the development of services for children and young people.
