If you received EMA last session and had payment withheld due to absence during the final week(s) of term it may still be possible to request an adjustment. This can be done for genuine sickness absence only supported by a completed self-cert form. Forms must be received by your school by tomorrow, Friday 24th August to be considered. Late submissions will not be accepted.
There will be one final catch-up payment next week for any adjustments due.
Young people currently in receipt of EMA who continue to work under a formal Activity Agreement scheme (not school pupils) should receive payment on Friday 3rd August. If you have a query about the amount received please contact your Activity Agreement worker.

From several enquiries today it seems there’s a rumour travelling round Falkirk EMA that summer bonuses are due to be paid. We’re sorry to clarify that bonus payments have not been part of EMA Scotland for a number of years and so the only payment due to be received on Monday is for normal fortnightly attendance.
General EMA information and useful links can be found on our main Falkirk Council webpage and our Glow Group.
Further to previous posts, we have just been advised that the system issue has now been resolved. Payment is now expected to be received one business day late, on Monday 9th July. Remittance slips should arrive by post from tomorrow.
Please share this information to anyone else you know to be in receipt of EMA and again accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.
Per previous post, payment originally expected tomorrow, Friday 6th July will be delayed. Every effort is being made to keep delays to a minimum and further information will be posted here once available.
Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused by the system problem which is outwith our control.
We have just been advised of a problem with the Council’s payment system which may delay this week’s expected EMA. Every effort is being made to resolve the issue in time to release payment in time but a delay in receipt may be unavoidable.
As schools are now closed, it would be very much appreciated if you share this information with anyone likely to be affected.
Further information will be posted here as soon as available to us.
The payment run for the final fortnight of the 11-12 school term is complete. As usual, payment is made for 100% attendance, good progress and conduct. Please note that as always, your school is responsible for monitoring these aspects and making the decision whether to pay – EMA Team cannot adjust these decisions or make backdated payment during the school holidays.
If you receive EMA under the Activity Agreement scheme and have a query about payment please contact your Activity Agreement worker in the first instance.
The penultimate payment run of this 11-12 session is complete and due to reach accounts on Friday 22 June. This includes payment for weeks ended 8th & 15th June.
As always, payment is made for 100% attendance, good progress & conduct. This means that non-attendance following a school function eg Prom should result in non-payment.
If you have a query about the amount received, please contact your school in the first instance.
Can we please remind all pupils that you must be working under an agreed study programme with timetabled classes in order to be eligible for continued payment until the summer holidays. Payment cannot be made to those who have already indicated their intention to leave and have no timetabled classes as a result.
Attendance in social spaces etc does not count as guided learning.
