Our colleagues at Community Learning & Development have organised an information session on the Welfare Reform Changes on Monday 22nd April at Camelon Education Centre 1pm – 4pm. If you are working under the Activity Agreement scheme and continue to attend over the next fortnight you will still be eligible to be considered for payment in the next timetabled runs, due 19th April & 26th April.

Just a reminder that there are two Tuesday payment runs coming up in the next few months due to Publilc Holdays & Bank Holidays. The first one is on Tuesday 2nd April 2013 and the next one is on Tuesday 14th May 2013. These dates are as timetabled your Pupil Handbook. We will update the blog as usual as these payments are run.
Falkirk Council have introduced an information page on the main website detailing forthcoming UK Government changes in Wefare Benefits. Although this may not affect you as an EMA applicant directly, for your family or, as you move on from school or Activity Agreements it may be more relevant. A link to the webpage can be found on the home page or you can visit directly by clicking here .
As usual, if you have a query about the amount received, please contact your school or Activity Agreement worker in the first instance.

The ‘What Skills, What Jobs’ event takes place at Falkirk Town Hall on Wednesday 13 March 2013, between 10am – 7pm. There will be a number of representatives on hand to offer advice and guidance on what training and employment is currently available locally.
The event is free and is open to anyone living in Falkirk aged between 16 and 24. If you plan to leave school shortly or you know anyone else to whom this would be of interest please click here for further info.
SIO is a professional body working on behalf of the Scottish investment industry. They have announced the launch of a new Facebook competition for 16-24 year olds interested in working in the Scottish financial sector: http://www.facebook.com/MyFinancialCareerPath
The winners will have the opportunity to conduct video interviews with a variety of individuals working in the Scottish financial sector, from heavy hitters to fresh new interns. Deadline for Entries: Monday 4th March 2013.
The competition will select young people, from across the central belt, who can demonstrate their enthusiasm for finance, journalism and social media. Training will be given on social media, interview techniques and video shoots. The young people will then be unleashed on a variety of people working in the financial sector, from financial heavy hitters to new interns, to ask the no-holds-barred questions about working in the industry on video.
