Education Team Manager<\/p>\n<p>Role of\u00a0Education Team Managers and a Service Manager<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ensure the overall management and development of the highest standards in professional and educational practice.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ensure continuous improvement by monitoring and challenging schools on standards of attainment and achievement in line with the demands of Curriculum for Excellence and Falkirk Council\u2019s \u2018Learning to Achieve\u2019 policy<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Provide support and challenge to identified clusters of educational establishments as outlined in the Quality Improvement Framework<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Monitor and support the key processes associated with school improvement planning<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Work with Curriculum Support Officers and other professionals within and outwith the Service to develop specialist areas related to local and national priorities<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Are familiar with all aspects of Council and national education policy and priorities, and are seen as representatives of the Director of Education when visiting schools or when involved with outside agencies<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Provide links between parents and schools to resolve issues or conflicts<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Are able to analyse and use performance information to challenge schools to improve<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Validate schools\u2019 evaluations of their:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Attainment and achievement<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Learners\u2019 experiences<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Curriculum<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Meeting learners\u2019 needs<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Self evaluation<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Keep abreast of current educational developments and thinking through regular and appropriate CPD<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Advise on and implement the Council\u2019s Human Resources procedures in conjunction with Corporate HR<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Participate in the appointment of senior promoted posts in schools<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Represent the Service on appropriate committees, appeal processes, Parent Councils and other forums \u2022 Apply procedures associated with Education Scotland Inspection of schools, including those associated with Progress Reports<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Participate in local quality assurance procedures such as validation visits<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Develop and lead CPD opportunities related to the improvement agenda in the Council\u2019s educational establishments<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Exercise effective communication and influencing skills<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Model confidence and creativity through coaching approaches to problem-solving<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Adopt a reflective approach to their own practice<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Respond timeously and effectively across a range of issues<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Operate flexibly and adaptively within a changing environment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Falkirk educational establishments are supported and challenged by Education Team Managers and a Service Manager: Rhona Jay &#8211;
