Mrs Murray took us on a wild goose chase when she drove the minibus around Slamannan looking for Bean Geese. With the help from the RSPB and a local farmer, we eventaully found the geese grazing just behind the school!
The classes played games with the RSPB, drawing different garden birds when they were being described.
Have a look at our drawings…can you name the birds?
We were all very excited when the RSPB took us to the park next to the school and demonstrated a cannon netting to us. Children from Greengairs Primary School joined us on the rainy afternoon. We heard a bang when the net exploded over the Bean Geese and captured them, Connor T investigated the site and took photographs of the netted geese.
In August 2012 Mr Findlay and Mrs Murray welcomed the children to the new school year. The children were very excited to learn they would be progressing their learning of BEAN GEESE!!! The classes had a visit from the RSPB and created posters showing the type of habitat Slamannan offers and why Slamannan is such a special place!
