Easter Eggs
Just before the Easter holiday, some pupils chose to design their own Easter eggs at home. Our winning eggs were designed by Ellie (with some help from Claudia), in the style of Angry Birds. They look fantastic! We all went outside to roll our eggs down the hill and had a chat about why the tradition started.
Outdoor Learning
Over the past couple of weeks we’ve done quite a lot of learning outside, engaging with the natural environment. Here are some examples, along with the river study video below.
The Course of a River
In class we learned about the Water Cycle and also the changes that a river goes through as it makes its journey from up in the mountains down to the sea. To help us understand how this works we did some Outdoor Learning to re-enact the course of a river using what we’d learned. Desert Landscapes
This term in Art we’ve been learning about tone and perspective. Later this term we’ll use these skills to help us create large paintings that link to our Scottish Landscapes topic. First though, we created these desert landscapes using the mixed media of paint and ink. I like how each one’s turned out different. 🙂

100th Comment
Congratulations to Caitlyn! Her recent comment about her Scotland map was the 100th comment that has been posted on our blog. No prize though sorry! A few new posts will be appearing over the next few days so keep checking back.
Scotland Maps
For our Scottish Landscpaes topic we had a go at drawing our own outline maps of Scotland. Even all the crinkly bits and islands! No rulers, no tracing, just using the skills we’ve been practicing in art to do with checking carefully and drawing lines lightly & gradually. I’m very impressed with the results!
Marie Curie Daffodils
The Marie Curie daffodils we’re growing on the window ledge are starting to get big. Millie’s seems to be making particularly good progress just now. Maybe people should try singing to them- some people say that helps plants grow! What would you sing to your plant?
Science/Health Homework for Tue 6th Feb
In case the photocopier is not fixed tomorrow, here are the hazard symbols you need for your homework. Your task is to look for examples of these signs at home and make a note in your jotter of where you find them if you spot any (e.g. Chemicals sign on bottle of kitchen cleaner). Please get an adult to help you with this task to help keep you safe.
