Star Writing

In class we looked at three story starts and worked in pairs to complete a ‘Style Seeker’ Reading Detectives task about them. We compared their narrative style, tense, chracters, setting, etc. Each pupil then got to choose which story they would like to continue. It was important to continue the style of the author identified in our Style Seeker work.

The first story was about an alligator with a sore tooth. Here is a Star Writing example by Claudia:

We decided to take the Alligator to the vet. So we got to the vet and he said there was nothing there. It just was a bubble on the gum that was sore so the vet got a nasty jag and the alligator bit the vet’s arm! The vet ran away the alligator gave me the dirty look. So I got a plastic fork and popped the bubble he was so tired he was so sleepy so we lifted the alligator in the car then we went home. Then we went to bed and fell asleep. Next morning the alligator had a sore leg. This alligator was annoying so we went to dad`s work and we gave the alligator back the owner had missed it. The alligator wanted him back so we got the alligator to his real home and that was the end of the alligator.
